Cheerleading Accessories

As any cheerleader knows competitions, or even performances at games, are very important.  Every cheerleader needs cheerleading accessories to complete their uniform and bring excitement to any performance.   There are two types of accessories, mandatory and non mandatory.  Every cheerleader will need to purchase mandatory accessories on top of their uniform.  Non mandatory accessories are fun to have but are not important to the well being of the squad.  In choosing accessories you will need to talk to your cheer coaches to make sure you are purchasing the right item. 

Mandatory accessories will be used on a routine basis by all cheerleaders.  They are the key cheerleading accessories and can make or break any performance.  The most important mandatory accessories are pom pons. They are used in every performance and bring to life moves in your performance.  Shoes are also an important accessory the right shoes will allow you to perform at your best and can also help with your comfort and posture.  There is also some uniform basics that you will need to purchase separately.  Spankies are small briefs that are worn under your cheerleading skirt that will ensure you privacy and comfort.  There are also tights which match your skin tone and will keep you warm in cold weathered performances.  Before purchasing all of these items it is important to talk to you cheer coach because everyone on the team should purchase the same items to ensure uniformity. 

Non mandatory items are not essential to all members of the squat and most of the time they are not necessary.  Megaphones may need to be purchased by some members to ensure that cheers are heard.  Often times these are provided by the coaches but it may be necessary to purchase extras.  Hair ties and socks are often purchased to carry out the uniform.  These should be purchased with colors of your uniform in mind.  Another item that may be necessary is a cheer bag; this will keep all your cheer equipment safe and easily transportable.  Non mandatory cheerleading accessories will only enhance your team spirit and your performance!
